Types of Blister Trays

Cosmetic Blister Trays
Our cosmetic blister packaging trays are made from high-quality materials that are both durable and lightweight. They are available in a variety of sizes and shapes, making them suitable for packaging a wide range of cosmetic products. Our trays are specially designed with raised compartments or cavities that hold individual cosmetic items securely in place, helping to prevent damage during transport or storage. Our cosmetic blister packaging trays are also an effective marketing tool. The transparent plastic material allows customers to easily see the cosmetic products inside, which can be particularly appealing for visually appealing products such as lipsticks and eye shadows. They can also be customized with branding or labeling to help promote the cosmetic product or brand.

ESD & Conductive Blister Trays
Our ESD black PS blister tray packages and ESD white PS blister tray packages are made from high-quality polystyrene materials that provide excellent protection against electrostatic discharge. These materials are lightweight, durable, and have excellent shock resistance properties, making them ideal for transporting and storing electronic components, sensitive devices, and other static-sensitive products. These trays are designed to provide a conductive pathway for the dissipation of electrostatic charges, thereby protecting the products from damage caused by static electricity.

Food Blister Trays
Food blister trays are designed to provide protection to the food inside and enhance its visual appeal. They come in a variety of shapes, sizes and designs to accommodate different types of food products such as fruits, vegetables, meats, baked goods and snacks. Some food blister trays have compartments or dividers to separate different food items or to prevent them from moving during transportation. Food blister trays are widely used in supermarkets, delis, bakeries and other food retail establishments to display and market food products. They are also popular in the food service industry because they facilitate portion control for take-out or delivery services. In addition, food blister trays are often used in meal delivery services where they serve as individual containers to hold the different components of a meal.

PVC

First up is PVC, the most commonly used plastic in blister packaging. It's a popular choice due to its durability, excellent barrier properties, and low cost. On the flip side, however, PVC isn't as environmentally friendly as other options.

PET

Next, we have PET, another frequently used plastic in blister packaging. PET boasts excellent clarity and high impact resistance, lending itself well to retail display purposes. However, compared to PVC, it is more costly. So, while PET outshines PVC in environmental compatibility, cost factors could come into play.

PP

Thirdly, we look at PP, known for its heat resistance. Ideal for applications requiring autoclaving or hot filling, PP's major downside is its hazy appearance, which could obscure product visibility.

PE

PE, on the other hand, finds its niche in applications demanding flexibility and high tear strength, although it falls short in terms of transparency and rigidity..

Advantages of Electronic Blister Tray

Product Visibility
One of the primary advantages of blister packaging is its exceptional product visibility. Except for the unique Alu-Alu style used in the pharmaceutical industry, most blister packs come with a clear plastic blister. This plastic cover allows consumers to see the product inside. This provides consumers with a tangible preview of what they are buying.

Protection Against Damage
Blister packaging features a robust design. The durable plastic blister can effectively protect products against pressure and impacts during transportation and storage. It also can prevent tampering to safeguard brand integrity. This ensures the product reaches the end consumer in pristine condition, reducing the risk of returns or customer dissatisfaction.

Customization
Customization is another one of the most important advantages of blister packaging. Manufacturers can print product information, logos, and promotional messages on the blister pack to enhance their marketing efforts. This benefit helps distinguish products on shelves and makes them more eye-catching.

Cost-Effective Manufacturing and Retailing
Blister packaging offers cost advantages for both manufacturers and retailers. Its relatively simple design and manufacturing process make it an economical choice. Additionally, lightweight blister packs require less material for production. The compact nature of blister packaging also optimizes shelf space. This allows retailers to display more products within the same area.

Electronics Blister Tray Packaging

Application of Electronic Blister Tray

You can use blister packaging to display electronics in see-through plastics, enticing consumers to purchase the product. Blister packaging's extra security also protects delicate electronics from damage while in transit and makes it more difficult for a thief to steal them.

Blister Packaging Process

We start by designing the blister and making the molds in-house. Then we form the blisters on a vacuum-forming machine. At this station, the blisters are formed by way of heat and vacuum. We heat the plastic and suck it over the molds. Then we die cut them. The blisters are typically made of clear PETG or PVC in 0.010-0.030 thickness. The blister card is typically a 21pt printed card with 4-color process on the front and black and white on the back. Once the blisters and the cards are completed, we make a sealing die that will be used to package the items together with heat and pressure. After the sealing dies are completed, we put in the blister. Then the item is to be packaged, followed by the blister card. It is then sealed into the blister-sealing machine and, with heat and pressure; the blister is sealed to the card holding your item. You now have a blister pack.

FAQ

Q: Why should I use electronic blister packaging?

A: There are many applications of blister packaging. Many companies use blister packaging as it’s usually see-through, allowing customers to view the product behind it. This greater visibility is especially attractive to customers, as it lets them see what they’re purchasing and be more informed in their purchasing decisions. Additionally, the glossy nature of many blister packs can increase the perceived value of the product, making it easier for consumers to justify purchasing it.
Additionally, the outer shell of blister packaging can be a theft deterrent since it’s difficult for thieves to open it quickly and swipe the contents inside. Companies also use blister cards to promote their products. Essentially, these blister cards offer “billboard” space for the product, allowing companies to place product descriptions, how-to-use information and brand logos on them. Blister cards can also feature eye-catching graphics, brand-friendly designs and attractive colors, attracting customers to the product as a result.
Companies also employ blister packaging to protect their products from damage. Many manufacturers create cavities that guard products against contamination and humid air, along with other external threats. These blister packs hold up for a long time, ensuring products maintain their quality while they await purchase. Additionally, some specialized opaque blister packs can also keep products sensitive to UV rays and light safe from damage.

Q: What materials are used in blister packaging?

A: The most common material used in blister packaging is polyvinyl chloride (PVC). This material is popular for how easy it is to manipulate during thermoforming and its low cost. Another common material is polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC), as it can be applied to a PVC film to create a stronger barrier against oxygen and moisture. Companies sometimes prefer to laminate PVC with polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE), which has an incredibly high moisture barrier. Some manufacturers also use cyclic olefin copolymers (COC) to provide their blister packs with extra moisture protection.

Q: Can your electronic blister tray be customized?

A: Yes. Our unique thermoforming process ensures your products get a custom-fit packaging solution, offering 360-degree protection every time.

Q: How to choose blister packaging?

A: Product Size and Shape: The blister must be designed to fit the specific product that you are packaging. It should be large enough to accommodate the product, but not so large that it takes up unnecessary space.
Product Protection: The blister should be designed to provide the necessary level of protection for your product, including protection from physical damage, moisture, and other environmental factors.
Branding and Marketing: Blister packaging can be used as an effective marketing tool, as it allows for clear product visibility and can include branding elements such as logos and colors.
Cost: The cost of blister packaging can vary depending on the type of materials used, the size and shape of the blister, and the complexity of the design. It is important to consider the cost of the packaging in relation to the value of the product and the potential return on investment.
Sustainability: As the packaging industry is moving towards more sustainable packaging, it's important to choose a blister packaging that is eco-friendly and can be recycled or biodegraded.

Q: Do you offer print options?

A: Yes. Customizing print options allows you to enhance the visual appeal and branding of your packaging. You can select from a variety of printing techniques, such as offset printing, digital printing, or silk-screen printing, to showcase your company logo, product details, and marketing messages. These options ensure your packaging stands out on store shelves, effectively communicating your brand identity to customers.

Q: What’s the function of inserts?

A: Customized inserts and trays inside blister packs can help organize and protect the product effectively. These inserts can be tailored to fit the product’s shape and size, providing added stability, preventing movement, and offering an attractive presentation.

Q: What finishes are available on electronic blister tray?

A: Options like matte or gloss finishes, embossing, or spot UV coating can add a premium touch to your packaging, making it more engaging and memorable for customers.

Q: What is the process of designing the essential components of blister packaging?

A: Define the Blister Size and Shape: The initial step in blister packaging design involves defining the size and shape of the blister. This clear plastic part should be precisely tailored to the product, not only to enhance visibility but also to ensure optimal protection.
Consider Additional Features for the Blister: Depending on the product, your blister might need specific features. For instance, hinged lids or snap closures can be incorporated for products that require secure resealing after opening.
Choose the Right Materials for the Backing: The backing, often known as the blister card, plays an essential role in blister packs. It should be rigid enough to provide support and withstand the heat from the blister packaging machines during the sealing process.
Define the Size and Shape of the Backing: Just like the blister, the size and shape of the backing need to be meticulously defined. It should perfectly match the blister, providing a seamless fit.
Design the Backing: The design phase of the backing can be seen as an exciting opportunity for branding. A well-designed backing using compelling imagery, vibrant colors, and legible fonts can make your product stand out on retail shelves.

Q: How sturdy is the blister tray?

A: The thermoformed base web is made of a thicker plastic sheet, generally between 500 and 1000 µg and can not be collapsed, thus forming a solid tray.

Q: What is the environmental impact of blister tray packaging?

A: With growing concern for the environment, the packaging industry has shifted its focus to sustainable practices. We are adopting environmentally friendly materials and production methods to minimize the environmental impact of our packaging operations.

Q: Can the Electronic Blister Tray adapt to extreme environments?

A: Exposure to specific environmental factors, such as sunlight, extreme temperatures, or humidity, can impact the permanence of Blister Trays. UV exposure, for instance, may lead to material degradation over time.
