What is a Blister Package?
For the purposes of this discussion, a blister package consists of 2 items; a "Blister" made from molded PVC or similar material and a "Blister card" made from paper formulated specifically for the process. After printing, the card is coated with a dry adhesive that also doubles as a glossy finish. When the 2 pieces are pressed together under heat in a blister sealer, the adhesive melts and a bond is formed.

Blister Packaging is a very effective method because it not only displays the product and provides room for graphics, it also protects the product from theft as the package must be destroyed before the product can be removed.
Blister Packaging is well suited to large batches of similar products. Because the blisters are usually formed accoring to the shape and desired orientation of the product, virtually no time is spent on the orientation of the product during the packaging cycle. This makes the loading process much faster and easier and lends itself to automation when the quantities get large.
