A plastic face shield is a device used to protect wearer's entire face (or part of it) from hazards such as flying objects and road debris, chemical splashes (in industry), or potentially infectious materials (in medical and laboratory environments).
However, you should always wear safety glasses and face mask under your face shield because the bottom and sides of face shields typically have gaps. Liquid or debris passing through these gaps can contact your eyes, nose and mouth, potentially causing an injury.
